Has anyone been successful or know of info for running Paperport under Wine?

( Paperport   http://www.nuance.com/for-individuals/by-product/paperport/index.htm )

I've used ver. 8 for ~16 years  under Windows and not only have a lot of data in a proprietary format, I've grown to like it a lot. The latest versions, now produced by Nuance, aren't as well respected with many users complaining about bugs and poor support.

So version 8 is what interests me.

Thanks for reading.

Have not unfortunately, but I would suggest using PlayOnLinux. That software allows you to install the program in a bottle and you can try different wine versions if one does not work, pretty seemlessly.

I have looked up Paperport on wine HQ:

But its only tested on version 7 and on a older version of wine.

But that doesnt mean it wont work under linux with Wine, its a bit pot luck really but its worth a try.

This seems to be a rarely used software though.

Thanks Chad and Madman :)

I'll give it a try and see what happens.

@ Madman   ....yeah Paperport was once popular but faded when Nuance bought out Scansoft. Made it difficult to pirate......and use.
