MBAM 1.75 on my XP system checks for updates faster even though the software itself doesn't launch quickly.

Unfortunately the version 2.2 on Vista and Windows 7 is really slow when checking for definition updates. The blue bar runs and runs until it finally finds and starts to install updates. I don't understand why. (Vista and Windows 7 have a faster internet connection.)

MBAM 2.x was a major rewrite with significant improvements. It also uses two databases (mbam-rules.exe, mbam2-rules.exe) where as I recall v1.75 only used one.

Why have you not updated MBAM v1.75 on your XP machine to 2x?

The system requirements to run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware on Windows XP SP2 is supported.

I don't know. Maybe I thought v.1.75 would run better on XP. (I always think the latest versions of softwares are generally designed for newer OS's. But I know too that's not true for every software. :) )

Thanks for the info.
