This may/may not work, but it won't hurt the computer. The A:\> is referred to as the prompt.

At the A:/ type "C:" (without the quotes) and press Enter - you'll get a C:\> prompt

Type "cd windows" (with the space and without the quotes) and press Enter - you'll get a C:\Windows> prompt

Type "win" (without the quotes) and press Enter.

Does Windows start?

Ask your daughter what kind of Windows she has (Windows 95. 98, ME, 2000, or XP) and we can work from there.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
