I use CFW with cruelsister's config, https://malwaretips.com/threads/comodo-firewall-10-setup.67954/. Used to use Avast but now use Voodooshield alongside CFW.

After setting up CFW I check to see all startup programs are running by looking at blocked programs in CFW. If any are, unblock and reboot. Then I put the firewall component in training mode and run all the scheduled tasks to allow CFW to capture the rules.

Meghan recommends blocking notices but I like to see them.

You can check out Meghan's tests of CFW on Malwaretips. She recommends Avast or 360TS as a complimentary AV, if you wish to use one. I have turned off WD and just use CFW and VS as it's a very light and tight. VS is discussed on Wilders, https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/voodooshield.313706/. The latest one most us are using is 3.57beta, https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/voodooshield.313706/page-618#post-2663308. PM Dan and he will give you free 2 years licence.
