Hi Community:

I have a client who was recently infected with ransomware. The file name was changed to the following :

rD2ZrNkVzc1rQyEByTsFz+7JLb72ENyHZ-kHZcy3adibGJWQAHA9T6ZG3sKyaEMO.[fostecrypt@aol.com]

Does anyone have any idea what this is? I checked it in ID but it was unknown.

Thanks in advance.

Chances are it may be Globe2 or Globe3 based on the filename pattern. Try these Emsisoft decrypters; you will need a file pair consisting of an encrypted file and it's original that are over 64KB. Encrypted files will have the exact same filesize as the original.

Let us know if either one is able to decrypt your files; if they are not able to, please share the file pair you are using.

It's been confirmed this was a variant of Globe3, @Phranque was able to decrypt with the Emsisoft decrypter. :)

Phranque...rather than have everyone with individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any more questions, comments or requests for assistance in the below support topic discussion. To avoid unnecessary confusion, this topic is closed.

Thanks
