Okay I'm sorry for lack of info at the moment i'll get more as time goes on but want to get a head stat now.

So a friend of mine is a writer and had a lard document (sadly near novel) on a laptop that basically locked up, couldn't log in etc. She got to the point of factory resetting it like 5ish days ago and hasn't used it much since (I only really knew of all this now).

Is there any way possible ways to recover this info?

I would cease to use the PC in Question , to give you a better chance of finding anything retreivable.

I personally use Recuva , but PhotoRec has good reviews within BC.

They can be found here    http://www.techradar.com/news/software/applications/best-free-data-recovery-tools-1321723

Be sure to follow their instructions after installing for the best chance of recovery of files.
