Hi,

To fix problems with my computer I have been using hijackthis experts and removing files. I also have been uninstalling programs to speed my computer up. I must have uninstalled something important to Microsoft Word because when I went to help while using Word I received the following message:

Cannot find the wdmain8.hlp file. Do you want to find this file yourself?

I did a search and it wasnít there.

How do I get this back so I can use help in Word?

Thanks,

adkron

What version of word/office are you using?

You should be able to fix this problem by using the repair feature in Office.

I have copied links for Office 2000 and Office 2003.
The steps are pretty much the same.

How to install or repair and reinstall Office 2003 programs and features

How to install or repair individual features of Office 2000

Hope that helps,
JC

The only thing you should do is to insert Office CD into CD-Rom and click ok on the dialog box that it wants the needed file.

Hi,

Thanks everyone for your help. I have an old version of Microsoft Office Small Business Edition. When I go to add/remove programs I canít find it but it is on my computer.

The bottom line is I reinstalled Word and everything is working.

Thanks again,
