The same error message I've been getting since I tried to install it - The driver you are trying to install is not validated for this computer. (even though we agree that it is/was written for my laptop)

Installed this driver without any problem - but not really any improvement. I uninstalled the old driver and noticed that the lag was much worse - not sure if that means anything.
At this stage, I'm getting used to it and think its not so bad

Sorry about that. I suggest you run Dell's built-in hardware diagnostics to rule out hardware problems. Be sure to perform the Extended Test.

Completed the thorough test. Everything Passed except the harddrive - it is new and not from Dell. It couldnt test it.

Great! I also suggest you change your power plan settings to "High Performance" whether if you're running on battery or not.
