Hello,

Today I downloaded some nasty software, it was a rar archive which I scanned with antivirus and virustotal website. It was clean, but when I unpacked another rar file appeared (in the original rar was exe file, not another rar). Before I had a chance to check it out it disappeared and after like 1 minute I had several ad links to various games etc on my desktop screen. Numerous unwanted processes running and new tabs in chrome/firefox opening. I disconnected from the internet the moment I saw all of this happening to prevent more adware and malware from popup sites.

It took me like half an hour to delete everything. First I scanned 2 times with malwarebytes finding about 500 potential malware - quarantined then deleted.  I tracked every unwanted/unknown process in the task manager and deleted all strange folders from program files/appdata/roaming/local etc. Ran malwarebytes again to find some 19 additional trojans or another adware. Quarantined then deleted. Restarted pc, another scan with malwarebytes - this time everything clear. Checked the processes - nothing unknown. Did every scan in emisoft emergency kit - only 2 or 3 new things - deleted (one of them was trojan redirector in chrome cache this got a little bit more attention from me). Now I think everything is running good, no website popups, no adware. Is there anything else I can do to ensure that my computer is clean?

@edit: also ran kaspersky virus removal tool and kaspersky tdsskiller - all good

Just did that, 2 additional files gone, but from what I saw it was something I used and 100% not an adware
