How do I stop this from running??? It's been almost 24 hours. it is still not in 50%. How to terminate and stop???

Did you initiate the chkdsk...or did Windows do it on its own?

 

In any case...a chkdsk on the largest drive...would only run for that amount of time if the hard drive or file system has serious problems, IMO.

 

If it's the automatic chkdsk initiated by Windows...I suspect that the only way to stop it would be to simply shut the system down.  But, of course, upon reboot, it would just begin again.

 

What model Vaio is this?
