Hi all.  While loading into a game last night my computer registered several clicks on the screen (an icon in the game's launcher window was clicked on a few times) then Avira detected the following:  [DETECTION] Is the
TR/Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 Trojan!
  D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\GreyGoo\GooG.exe

and said it moved the file to quarantine.  I subsequently ran a scan with with Junk removal tool (which found and removed  the following:
Successfully deleted: C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Local\crashrpt (Folder)
Successfully deleted: C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Roaming\3909 (Folder)
Successfully deleted: C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\sf3pxdc6.default\extensions\trash (Folder))

and adw cleaner, which also found the following:

Folder Found:  C:\Users\Tom\Downloads\Plants Vs Zombies
Folder Found:  C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Roaming\AdvertismentImages

Can anyone advise on what I should do to ensure that I am now virus free?  I run Avira, Malwarebytes and spybot on my machine.  I haven't noticed any more mouse clicks, but I do want to be sure.

Cheers

Security programs have been detecting that for 7 years or more. It might be a false positive. It could be malware.

If you only downloaded the Steam Games from Steam then that makes it more likely a false positive. Was the game

damaged by Avira's actions?

Rerun AdwCleaner and be sure to click on Clean when the scan is finished.

Suggest you run scans using the programs below to clean, remove adware and to remove malware.

Use CCleaner to remove Temporary files, program caches, cookies, logs, etc. Use the Default settings. No need to use the

Registry Cleaning Tool...risky. Pay close attention while installing and UNcheck offers of toolbars....especially Google.

After install, open CCleaner and run by clicking on the Run Cleaner button in the bottom right corner.

CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

  • download Malwarebytes to your desktop.
  • Double-click mb3-setup-1878.1878-3.5.1.2522.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • Then click Finish.
  • Once the program has fully updated, select Scan Now on the Dashboard. Or select the Threat Scan from the Scan menu.
  • If another update of the definitions is available, it will be implemented before the rest of the scanning procedure.
  • When the scan is complete, make sure that all Threats are selected, and click Remove Selected.
  • Restart your computer when prompted to do so.
  • The Scan log is available throughout History ->Application logs. Please post it contents in your next reply.
  • Hold down Control and click on this link to open ESET OnlineScan in a new window.
  • Click the esetonlinebtn.png button.
  • For alternate browsers only: (Microsoft Internet Explorer users can skip these steps)
  • Click on esetsmartinstaller_enu.exe to download the ESET Smart Installer. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the esetsmartinstaller_enu.png icon on your desktop.
  • Check "YES, I accept the Terms of Use."
  • Click the Start button.
  • Accept any security warnings from your browser.
  • Under scan settings, check "Scan Archives" and "Remove found threats"
  • ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
  • When the scan completes, click List Threats
  • Click Export, and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
  • Click the Back button.
  • Click the Finish button.
  • NOTE:Sometimes if ESET finds no infections it will not create a log.
  • Please download Security Check by glax24 and save the file to the Desktop
  • Run the tool by accepting all the Security prompts
  • when complete the tool will produce a log file C:\SecurityCheck\SecurityCheck.txt and also copy the contents to the Clipboard
  • Simply Paste the log to your reply

Follow the suggestions in RED.

Uninstall these programs:

Skype Click to Call v.8.5.0.9167

Spybot - Search & Destroy

QuickTime 7 v.7.79.80.95

Java SE Development Kit 7 Update 79

After doing the above and rebooting...how is the computer performing...up to par?

Ok, I've uninstalled the listed programs but I can't seem to uninstall Skype Click to Call - it is not in my programs and features list.  Can you tell me where I go to find it?  I can't see it in my firefox extensions.

If it is not seen in the browser and not listed in your list of installed programs,  then it is not a problem.

If the computer is running up to par then you are good to go.....happy surfin'
