Got hit last night with Samas or Samas.A.  It changed all files that mattered to an extension to .letmetrydecfiles.

I sent a message to the ransom page but have not heard back in a few hours.  Last I read this is a new variant with no known decrypter.

I have backups of most of my stuff but I did lose about 3 months of shared files due to a stupid mistake in one of my batch files.

Am I bleep out of luck?

No version of SamSam has ever been decryptable. They have always used RSA-2048, and only the public key is ever passed to your server. Your whole network was compromised.

There is a discussion thread here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/607818/samas-ransomware-support-and-help-topic-help-decrypttxt-encedrsa/

If you pay them and receive a key, I can provide a more user-friendly, less buggy decrypter, but it only works with a key they provide.

Rather than have everyone with individual topics, it would be best (and more manageable for staff) if you posted any more questions, comments or requests for assistance in the above support topic discussion...it includes experiences by experts, a variety of IT consultants, end users and company reps who have been affected by ransomware infections. To avoid unnecessary confusion, this topic is closed.
