Issue with Nvidia GPU

So I just downloaded a new game called Planet Coaster. Currently, I have an older laptop I am trying to run the game off of and I am having issues with the game crashing.
 
I have a Dell XPS L502x and here are the specs.
 
Windows 10 64 bit
Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00GHz
8GB RAM
DirectX 12
Intel HD Graphics 3000
Nvidia GeForce GT 540m
 
I understand that this is not the ideal setup for the game but I should be able to at least run it on low quality settings.
 
Anyway, I think there is something wrong when the game has to use the Nvidia GPU. In my Nvidia settings, I have it automatically select which GPU to use. It seems to run fine when it's using the integrated graphics but when it switches over to the Nvidia GPU, the game crashes almost immediately. 
 
I decided to test my theory and went back into the Nvidia settings and forced it to only run off the Nvidia GPU and it did not even get past the startup screen.
 
I know you guys are going to ask if I have to most updated drivers. I do. I am running version 378.49.
 
I just downloaded and installed it yesterday because the game wouldn't even install until I did that. 
 
So what kind of suggestions do you all have to get this fixed? I feel like the game should always be running with the dedicated graphics card considering the integrated graphics card is not that strong. 
 
Is there maybe a graphics card setting that could be interfering with the game running properly?

I would try ininstalling the game because the game may still be actually only seeing your Intel I-GPU initially when you fire up the game regardless that you manaully switched to the NV solution. I would even go as far as uninstalling the NV drivers and then reinstall them, set the NV GPU as default within the NV control panel then re-install your game -- see how the game detects the NV GPU. In other words it could be the game itself that is confused about what GPU you are using regardless of you manually setting it because it may have initually detected Inte I-GPU.

I have driver 378.49 and reinstalled (clean). I also reinstalled the game after I did the drivers. The game is still freezing.
 
Now that I think about it, the game Sims 3 was doing the same thing to me which definitely makes me think it's something with the GPU. Does this sound like the GPU is damaged?

EDIT: Just got a BSOD Video_Scheduler_Internal_Error. In case it matters, I just ran CCleaner and I have Avast Free Antivirus.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.
 
Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
  List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
 
Click Go and paste the content into your next post.
 
Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.

   Go to Piriform's website, and download the free version on the left.  Click Download from Piriform.com (the FileHippo link requires an extra click). Or if you want to use a portable version of Speccy (which doesn't require installation), click the builds page link and download the portable version. You will now be asked where you want to save the file. The best place to put it is the Desktop, as it will be easy to find later.

    After the file finishes downloading, you are ready to run Speccy. If you downloaded the installer, simply double-click on it and follow the prompts until installation is complete. If you downloaded the portable version, you will need to unzip it before use. Right-click the ZIP file and click Extract all. Click Next. Open up the extracted folder and double-click on Speccy.
 
     Once inside Speccy, it will look similar to this (with your computer's specifications, of course):

     Now, at the top, click File > Publish Snapshot.

     Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard

Your system errors citing "Queencreek" are best pusued with Intel, IMO.  I can't really find any documentation that tells me why those errors occur...or the signifance of such.

 

I also see that you downloading driver updates via Windows Update.  Based on history...I would not advise anyone to do such for drivers.  If an OEM system, drivers should be obtained at the OEM website.  If component is added or part of self-built system...then the drivers should be obtained from the website of the component manufacturer.

 

I see nothing unusual in your services/proesses...nor do I see anything that would prompt me to become concerned about drives.

 

Your system errors are the only data items you provided that seem to warrant some research.
