Hello,

Recently i've been having a problem with my computer blue screening. Computer is fairly new, roughly 3 months old. Long story short a week ago they started randomly while I was browsing reddit. I thought I knew the basic procedure... So I updated every driver(to my knowledge) that I had and was still crashing.

Things I have tried:

Updating Drivers (Manually / Automatically)

Complete wipe of partition / Fresh install of windows

Removing graphics card / installed older nvidia drivers / fresh install of new nvidia drivers

Testing Ram (Memtest) (At least one known good stick and slot which I am using right now)

Tried different HD with windows 7 that has all updated drivers for my system.

 Ran driver verifier

Blue Screen Error Messages:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

I have done the scf, memory integrity checks, made sure every plug was seating correctly in the PC. I don't know what else it could be. Never had a problem with it since I built it. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Hi Komacho,

Try putting the Ram Stick in another ram module and please update me, also try to see this link : http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2912341/irql-equal-kmode-exception-handled-bsod-continously.html

Thanks,

Hassan Wael

Your UEFI/BIOS (version 3007) dates from 2016.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  This is just in case there has been a more recent update.
FYI - W8 and W10 communicate more with the UEFI/BIOS than previous versions of Windows, so it's important to ensure that the UEFI/BIOS is kept up to date (and that outdated UEFI/BIOS' may be the cause of some compatibility issues).

Only 3 Windows Update hotfixes installed.  Most build 14393 (1607) systems have more than this.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available Windows Updates.
The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.

Out of 50 memory dumps there were approximately 10 different BSOD  (aka STOP or BugCheck) error codes.  The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things (the list is not in any sort of order).  3 of the errors state that hardware is to blame.
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- dirt/dust/hair/fur/crud inside the case.  Blow out the case/vents with canned air (DO NOT use an air compressor or vacuum as they can cause damage to the system)
- missing Windows Updates
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers), older systems, or even pirated systems
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from http://www.carrona.org/initdiag.html or http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html ).

Please get a head start on the hardware diagnostics - they are located here:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html
Please finish ALL of them and let us know the results

There's a lot of older drivers for your Norton protection.
I would suggest uninstalling it and then using the Norton Removal Tool (free from here:

https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v60392881_EndUserProfile_en_us

While testing, please ensure that Windows Defender and the Windows firewall are enabled.

Once we're done, feel free to download a fresh copy of the latest version of Norton to install on your system if you'd like.

I've already tried 3 different hard drives. One of which was a fresh install and another which had windows 7, BSOD still happened. I've ran memtest on my memory for over 8 hours on each stick. No errors on either. Although my buddy showed me that my ram is not on the qualified vendor's list for my motherboard. If no errors show on memtest, could memory still cause a blue screen because of incompatibility? Even if the PC ran 3 months no problems? I have another PSU to try, although the one in my PC right now is gold rated and only 3 months old. I don't think it would be the cause of this.

Run the Prime95 Blend test - it also tests RAM, and does it differently from MemTest

Have you tried the other tests?  I'm referring to the Furmark and other video tests and the CPU tests.

If you have, then it's time to start this procedure:  http://www.carrona.org/strpdown.html

You can also run Driver Verifier according to these directions:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

As this is a suspected hardware issue, please let Driver Verifier crash the system at least 3 times (so we have 3 memory dumps to look at)>

Good luck!
