just got a Malwarebtyes update and now see logonUI.exe in  my task manager.whats up with that and should I be concerned

Sorry for the delay in response to your question!! This topic must have slipped through the cracks! :(

 

To answer your question: If LogonUI.exe is located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder, then the file is safe and related to the graphical "Windows Login" screen.

 

LogonUI.exe is usually a child process of Winlogon.exe, and used for authentification of the user. If it was suddenly visible in Task Manager (at that time), then it was likely caused by the Malwarebytes update itself, and nothing to worry about. If you've since rebooted and logged back into Windows (under an Administrator account) after that update, then there is absolutely nothing to worry about concerning LogonUI.exe. :)
