Hey Guys,

I have an old AM3 system I am upgrading from.

Components I am keeping:

XFX 850 watt PSU

RX 480 8gb

2 1 TB black drives

Bluray Drive

Here is what I was thinking of upgrading too:

I7 7700k *I could get away with a 7600k, but I am thinking about getting into rendering, and wanted a little more punch

My goal is to have a good gaming pc, but also I am going into the IT program here at college, and we were told we would be making a lot of VMs. So by doing this I will have a new PC with plenty of power and a secondary media / extra vm machine. Any suggestions or changes?

For now, wait for AMD Ryzen to be released in a month or two. It should be worth it as it will be taking on the higher end of the market where intel currently dominates.
