Hello, all! Long time no see!

So, I succumbed to the plague that is Windows 10 last year, and have for the most part made peace with it. However, there are a number of things that I can't seem to let go, no matter how seemingly small they are.

The main one is the ability to change certain event sounds.

I recently found a forum on how to change the Startup sound, since 10 will absolutely NOT play login or logoff sounds, and went through the steps. I had to change owner of the folder, remove the .wav, name the .wav I wanted to replace it with, and place it back into the folder (WinSxS). Took me a minute, but it finally let me change it.

Well, I restarted, and guess what? Same old Startup sound :/

Can this just not be changed, or was I misdirected to the wrong folder?
