Hi!

Prior to looking into the affects of malwares and viruses in more detail, I had assumed that Microsoft essential was good enough to protect my devices (which I was really wrong about!). I had decided to install Avira and Malwarebytes and did my first scan with Avira in safe mode. It came up with 22 threats (1 malware and 21 potential threats). After cleaning that and restarting back to normal mode, the OS has now started to load up dead slow....Black screen for 2 mins and then the UI becomes almost non-responsive. I am unable to click on anything on the task bar, I wanted to restart to go back to safe mode and do another scan using Malware byte but failing to get a response

Spec:

OS - Dual booted (Ubuntu & Win 10)

CPU - AMD Phenom ii x4 (3.4GHz)

Mem - 8GB

Cheers.

**Update**

I've managed to get into safe mode after logging off and restarting via there. Currently scanning in safe mode with MalwareByte. I had previously removed a few PUP's which was affiliated with Coupon Companion. I'm also carrying out a sfc scan too.

Hi,

Thanks for the heads up, wasn't too sure where to post tbh. I had removed the contents found by malwarebytes and it seems to be working okay atm. Will post in that section if the problem comes back again. Thanks.
