Shutting Down Stalling

Lately I have to manually shut down. I have XP Pro and when I log of the computers hangs at shut down,requiring me to manually shut down or if I restart I get a blank screen. and have to manually reboot.

try a 'system restore' to a date and time before your problems began.

also, what were you doing when problem started, ie, installing new programme, or whatever?
