My won xp has 2 network connection icons. I searched the system 32 folder but there are no duplucate entries. Clicking on both icons work with no difference. Right clicking brings up a difference. All other icons when right clicked give the options of open/create short cut, but one of the network icons gives explore as another right click option. How do I go about removing/identifying the right one. Xp home running with avg, malware bytes and cleaned with cc.

What folder are you looking in, please?

When I look in my Network Connections folder...right-clicking brings up 7 options and I have no explore option.  Double-clicking brings up detail for the status.

Could you do a screen shot of that, not 100% shore i know what your talking about, and in some cases its not a problem to make quick lunch icons, might just be able to delete it and problem solved.
