Hi there,

We have a missing person in Iceland. Is there any way to enhance the photo to find out the number on the licence plate?

That isn't much to work with, specifically with multiple light sources. Is that the highest resolution image available? Do you have more frames? Different angles?

Also, have you contacted the Police/Interpol? They might be able to pull other images from traffic and security cameras.

Police are rather adept at recovering license plate number from security cameras.

If anybody can help with this matter they must CONTACT POLICE IN ICELAND, NOT OP OR ANYBODY INVOLVED, THE POLICE.

The reason is that you don't know this person. They could easily be one of the suspects. You can't possibly know. If somebody wants to help, contact the Iceland police.

It's personally identifiable information, so yes. It is rarely allowed to post PII anywhere on a forum like this.

Thank you for your answers. I

The Police is on it but they can't figure out the plate number. They are asking people to help.

I just got the idea to ask you if you could help us.

Yes, I agree.

This does seem to be more suitable for Law Enforcement than for a public computer help forum?

EDIT: If your local authorities lack the capability to enhance the image, then surely they would know how to contact other national or international Law Enforcement entities who might possess such capability?
