If you were fully patched as of December 2016, the only Important/Recommended updates released for Vista SP2 for the January 2017 Patch Tuesday updates on 10-Jan-2017 were KB3216775 (MS17-004: Security Update for Local Security Authority Subsystem Service: January 10, 2017) and the latest version of KB890830 for the January 2017 Malicious Software Removal Tool. The Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary for January 2017 shows that there were only four security updates released in January 2017 for all supported versions of Windows.

If Windows Updates are running for several hours (or even days) on your Vista SP2 machines there is a possible workaround posted on page 1 of m#l's thread Updates not working, it has been searching for updates for hours in the MS Answers forum that could help speed up your Windows Updates.
