Hello

I have a real hard time with computers. I am going to try and learn as much as I can before I ask stupid questions....after I fail to learn, then I will ask the questions. Thanks in advance for any advice or help. I work
with my own business at home and when I have computer problems it takes me completely out of my game. I feel totally hopeless er I mean helpless (it is 3:30 AM here in Los Angeles).

I have used tons of progams on forums like this at different times through the years but it seems I always end up with a slow computer that is plagued with problems. Hopefully I can find a way to fix that finally.

Welcome to BC!
Spend a little spare time each day reading some of the Tutorials or a few threads in one of the forums, and you will be surprise how much you can learn.
If you have a computer problem, especially if it interferes with your business, don't hesitate to post about it and ask for help from our members.
Regards,
John

Just like the BC sign-in page says "Bleeping Computer is a community devoted to providing free original content,
consisting of computer help and tutorials, in such a way that the beginning computer user can understand."

That really means there are no "stupid questions".

After you've explored the BC a bit and may not have found the exact topic to suit;

We all have questions.
Its not easy to decide where to start.
Once you do it never stops, but it does become easier to ask the questions.

Are you familiar with reformating your PC?
In situations where time is of the essence, like in business, you should be
able to save your data to CD or DVD, be able to completely refresh your operating system by
reloading it & updating it, then adding your files back on to it and proceeding.

I'm not saying to do that for a slow computer, just that by being able to do that
a goal will have been met ... the tool you rely on will become one that you have control over
in ways that will give you confidence to face whatever might come up.

I mention this to you because I once knew next to nothing.
Solving problems was seemingly out of reach for me.
Malware nearly got the best of me.
BC advice and trial & error over a period of time has reversed that.

Hardware nor software use no longer makes me swim in a world full of fog.
Keep up the "good fight".
Concentrate on:
What do I know?
What is happening that I do not understand?
Exactly what am I working with? (PC model, peripherals, 3rd party software & what I do with it)

This information always helps when asking for help.

Welcome to BC

No, I wish I knew how to reformat....but I think the first order of business will be to go through the tutorials here and soon because things are running slow and there is this Clicker.FR virus that keeps popping up.

You might want to take a look at this pinned post when you have a few minutes:
