Hey everyone, so recently I have not been able to access Google or Google subsites such as GMail or Google Drive. Not matter what browser I use I am unable to access Google and at this point it is getting quite frustrating. I've tried multiple commands in the command prompt including flushing the dns, etc. Any advise or help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

If this only a Google issue try changing your DNS servers. I am assuming your are using Windows 7, Remember to flush your DNS cache after changing your DNS addresses or reboot.

OpenDNS

If you want to use Google's DNS addresses substitute

Unfortunately the problem still persists after doing that, is there anything else that can be done?
I'm pretty sure it's my computer and not an issue with Google because I can access google on all other computers in my household except for my own.

I suspect an infection of some kind.  Blocking this specific is just plain weird.

Can you get to any other search engines?   If so, I'd ask about this on "Am I Infected?  What should I do?"

Check your HOSTS file for anything related to google.

Can you access google using this website?

I can get on other search engines such as Bing.com but Google is the only one that I cannot use. Also I cannot access Google on Anonymouse.org. I haven't tried the HOSTS file as I do not know where that is. Where or how can I find the HOSTS file?

The HOSTS file is located at

%SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

%SystemRoot%  is C:\Windows\

Open hosts with notepad.

Are there any entries for google?

You want to delete them. Then save the hosts file.

The hosts file should look like this but without the facebook entry.

Should I delete every entry that I can see in the file or just the ones pertaining to Google?

Yes, here it is

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.

# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each

# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.

34.195.153.94 is the address for Amazon

I am not sure why the 34.195.153.94 urls are mapped to an Amazon ip address. Personally, I would delete all entries with the 34.195.153.94 addresses unless you do something with Amazon. If you do then only delete the google entries.

I don't do anything with amazon so I will proceed to delete those. Also how do I save the host file after I'm done?

Open in notepad then save it as hosts with no extension. notepad will want to save it as a txt file as default. After the save delete the original hosts file and rename hosts.txt to only hosts.

You can also download this tool with will reset the HOSTS file for you.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/tweaking_com_repair_hosts_file.html

Right click and select Run As Administrator.

Edit: If you do not use Amazon then I would do what britechguy suggested and post in the Am I Infected Forum to make sure you are clean. You can reference this thread.
