I have an eMachine that i use for work. i'm not completely computer illiterate but it's weird. I have two of the EXACT same eMachines and they both started doing this at the same time maybe 2 months ago.

I'd be working on it and then out of nowhere frozen. Then everytime i try to boot back up it gets frozen at different points quickly. Other times it will be fine for 2 days straight.

I've tried clean wipes on both. Still does the same on both.

Thoughts? Thank you so much!

Only 325 Windows Update hotfixes installed.  Most systems with SP1 have 350-400 or more.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).
The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.

Many BSOD's in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report - yet only 3 memory dumps in the uploaded reports.

It appears that there's a problem with the system saving memory dumps.

I would start with these free hardware diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

In particular, ensure that you run the hard drive diagnostics (as I suspect a problem in the storage sub-system).

Be sure to run ALL of the diagnostics and let us know the results.

Beyond that, I have to wonder about the storage controller drivers (because of the presence of NTFS.sys in the stack text of 2 of the memory dumps).

Start by running chkdsk /r /f from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt.

It'll ask you if you want to do it after a reboot - answer yes and reboot for it to run.

Another thing you can try is Driver Verifier.

Please run it according to these instructions:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

My thoughts here are that it's extremely unlikely that 2 computers will have the same hardware problem at the same time.
But it's not impossible - that's why I asked you to run the hardware diagnostics.

Another possibility could be an incompatibility or a bug due to some of the 3rd party software on your system - or an incompatibility of an older nVidia driver (or other program) with a recent Windows Update.

Driver Verifier may help us locate that.

I'm checking everything now. Computer/s still keep shutting down so I'm having a hard time. I don't think it's software since I've done clean install on both (Yep I erased the hard drive). I'll have everything up in a few hours.

Sorry for the delay. I'll be testing all the hardware this week. Hopefully I can find the issue. PC/s turn off randomly.

The MCP61PM-GM motherboard is one of eMachines's that is known to have capacitors that fail.  You should find more information here about that:

Try this:  http://badcaps.net/

It's the home page for TheBlackFox's link.

I used them as a reference back in the Vista days, dunno about their business tho'

The most easy things you can do to ascertain whether there is a capacitor issue is to inspect the motherboard for capacitors that are leaking and/or ruptured.  To fix such capacitors you would need to be proficient enough at soldering electronic components to replace a capacitor with a new one.

I see that one of the capacitors is certainly ruptured. The computer cost me $99. eMachines windows 7. Do you thing it would be worth the hassle to either find a working motherboard or learn to solder and buy a resistor and replace it?

I can't really answer that for you.  Some people learn that sort of thing a lot easier than others.  You could probably search on youtube about how to solder to start learning, though.  You can buy soldering equipment for cheap at either http://www.gearbest.com/ or https://www.banggood.com/ .

Also, another thing you would want to check on your eMachines PC is the brand of the power supply.  A lot of them them have Bestec power supplies and if you read enough eMachines threads on the http://www.badcaps.net/forum/ forum you will hear how that brand of power supply is responsible for frying a lot of motherboards.  So, if your power supply is a Bestec, and you intend to repair your PC, you will also want to replace that with a reliable alternative.

If you want to find a replacement motherboard of the same model, eBay is probably your best source.  However, any motherboard you buy could have the same original flaw with capacitors that eventually fail, unless the supplier can tell you for sure that the capacitors were replaced.
