! This is very important !: Update your Windows. Doing this will make your computer more secure. Please visit Windows Update (follow this link: http://www.windowsupdate.com) to update Windows. Follow the instructions on the screen. You may have to visit more then once Windows Update to install all updates.
Not updating Windows will leave your computer vulnerable to malware and attacks.

Install at least Service Pack 1 and all critical updates.

After the installation of the last update make sure you REBOOT the computer, run HijackThis again and post a new log please.
Everyday is virus day. Do you know where your recovery CDs are ?
Did you create them yet ?

I have checked my computer and I have SP1 install with a bunch of hotfixes. I also have SP2 installed. I spoke with my IT person here at work, and said there may be a conflict with SP1 and SP2. He suggested unistalling SP2 and run HJT, and see what happens. Is this a good idea? Also, when I try to use the link I keep getting other sites....this is very FRUSTRATING

Hi :flowers:

help please...

Keep cool . We will clean your computer today.

Please do me a favour and send me these files to this address: [edited]@yahoo.com

This easy-search.biz variant is difficult to remove and I want to test the fix first. The fix I know did't work last time.

These are the files. Search for the. Please note there are legitimate windows files with similar names on your HDD.
C:\WINDOWS\iau.exe <-- this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\adsnw088.exe <-- this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\fw99vuq.exe <-- this file
mservice.exe <-- this file
msqdevl.exe <-- this file
svshost.exe <-- this file, note the legitimate file has this file name: svchost.exe
lssas.exe <-- this file, note the legitimate file has this file name: lsass.exe
stisvsq.exe <-- this file

Please put them in a zip file.
Thank you.

Let's begin to clean your computer:

Please uninstall from Add\Remove Programs if found:
Begin2Search
Spytech SpyAgent

Please print or copy these instructions because you are not able to access the Internet in SafeMode.

Make sure you are set to show hidden files and folders:
A. On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options.
B. Click the View tab.
C. Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.
D. Uncheck Hide extensions for known filetypes and Hide protected operating system files.
How to see hidden files in Windows

REBOOT into SafeMode by tapping F8 key repeatedly at bootup: Starting your computer in Safe mode

Run HijackThis!, press Scan, and put a check mark next to all these:

Hi

Thank you for the files .

Download KillBox here: KillBox. Unzip it to your desktop and start killbox.exe.

Select the Delete on reboot option.

Copy and paste each of the following file(s) to the field labeled "Full path of file to delete"

C:\WINDOWS\mservice.exe

C:\WINDOWS\iau.exe

C:\WINDOWS\stisvsq.exe

C:\WINDOWS\svshost.exe

C:\WINDOWS\msqdevl.exe

C:\WINDOWS\lssas.exe

C:\WINDOWS\dialer.tmp

After each file press the Delete button (the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it).

A first dialog box will ask if you want to delete the file on reboor - answer YES

A second dialog box will aks you if you want to REBOOT now - on all but the last file, answer No
For the last file (or first, if only one file), answer Yes

Your computer will reboot. Until the proxy setting is fixed you can not browse with Internet Explorer.

Please print or copy these instructions because you are not able to access the Internet in SafeMode.

Download Ad-aware SE 1.05: here
Install it. When you get the last screen, with the "Finish" button and 3 options, uncheck those three items.
Open AdAware and click the "Check for updates now" link. Close AdAware. Don't use it yet.

Download System Security Suite here:
System Security Suite Download & Tutorial. Unzip it to your desktop.
Install the program. Don't use it yet.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.begin2search.com/sidesearch.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://www.begin2search.com/sidesearch.html

If you intentionally installed this keylogger, don't check this entry:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [BPK] C:\Program Files\Perfect Keylogger Lite\bpk.exe

Close all other windows and browsers, and press the Fix Checked button.

Run AdAware, press the "Start" button, uncheck "Scan for negligible risk entries", select "Perform full system scan" and press "Next". Let AdAware remove anything it finds.

With all windows and browsers closed.
Clean out temporary and Temporary Internet Files.
A. Open System Security Suite.
B. In the Items to Clear tab thick:
- Internet Explorer (left pane): Cookies & Temporary files
- My Computer (right pane): Temporary files & Recycle Bin
Press the Clear Selected Items button.
Close the program.

REBOOT normally.

Easy-search.biz hijacker changed your proxy setting. If you have a proxy please set it back.

Run HijackThis! again and post a new log please.
