Hi Everyone;

Been in website development for 8 years and this one has me stumped. I have an intermediate knowledge of system, routers, DNS servers and all that jazz.

Back story - I own http://www.aussiecoeliac.com.au, earlier this morning I posted to it successfully, everything went through and then suddenly the connection timed out. The connection timed out and won't load on my PC or devices.

Check all other websites and everything else works fine. Contact Crazy Domains IT support (host server), they say that everything is all good on their end. Get multiple friends to test the link and sure enough it's working for them. When I take my phone off the home wifi the website loads fine. It won't work on any device connected to the wifi, no matter the browser.

I clear the cache. I restart devices. Turn the modem off and on. This fixes the problem for 5 seconds but I can't save any changes before it times out again. I test it on a proxy site works fine. Flush my DNS no changes, still no website loading. Connect to an Open DNS, no changes still won't load. Restart again and still no change. Uninstall the browser software and do a fresh install. Still no change. Try to reset my hosts file in SYSTEM32, no change.

I am running Windows 10. ISP - Optus. My dad also with Optus has confirmed the website works for him.

I checked with crazy domains again and I haven't been blacklisted on their end.

Never had to come up against anything like this. Anyone have any suggestions? Next idea is to bypass the router to check if that firewall is blocking me but since it is midnight I am heading to bed first.

Thanks!

- Ashlee

If this was a modem/router did you change the DNS within the device or at the computer?

Because all devices are affected have you tried resetting the modem/router instead of turning off and on. Be sure to copy down all current settings. There is usually an option to backup settings in the Administration section of a router.

After the reset change the password of the modem/router.

Can you ping the website? If not, can you tracert to the site and post it? I can get to the website fine on Verizon and Google DNS.

In general, sounds like your router doesn't have loop back. If you are hosting the website on your network, then you need to enter the private IP for the server on your network, not the website. It's like trying to call your own phone number from your phone.

Hi John C - I did a hard reset of the router. I bypassed the router and that didn't work either. Changed the DNS both on the computer and within the router settings.

Trikein - Not hosting the website myself, it is through crazy domains; who are saying that there is no fault on there end what so ever and it is my ISP issue.

ISP just likes to push the blame back to them. Both of them keep telling me that since they can access the website there is no problem rather than trying to help me get it working on my computer at home.  I have pinged the website and it responds. I know it is up and working because I have had several friends check it for me. It only seems to be my wifi and that which is connected to it that has any issues loading the website.

I'm no network guru bur I went here and inputted your web address and received an IP of 27.124.120.41

I then inputted the IP address into my address bar and should have been directed to your site but instead received this.

Maybe I am all wrong on this. I can access the site fine when clicking on your link. Is this some type of DNS problem?

That won't work with virtual hosting, because multiple domains live on the same IP. If you don't have a domain attached to the traffic request, the server won't know where to send you.

Can OP post a tracert to the website? Here is mine from RI,USA for comparsion:
