· OS - Windows 10
· x64
· Original OS - Windows 7
· Windows 10 free upgrade
· Age of system - 3-4 years
· Age of OS installation - 1 hour

· CPU - AMD FX8350

The crashes started after I put in a 850 evo 500gb ssd, before that I did not have any bsod's.

I just want to check and make sure its the ssd before I send it back.

Thanks for your time.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version 2301) dates from 2014.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.
FYI - W8 and W10 communicate more with the UEFI/BIOS than previous versions of Windows, so it's important to ensure that the UEFI/BIOS is kept up to date (and that outdated UEFI/BIOS' may be the cause of some compatibility issues).

Only 1 Windows Update hotfixes installed.  Most build 14393 (1607) systems have more than this.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available Windows Updates.
The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.

I'd guess that this was a hardware issue, but can't isolate it to a specific component.
If you doubt the SSD, then try a different hard drive.

Install W10 (no need to activate it unless you plan on keeping the drive) and see if that stops the problems.  If it does, then that's where the problem lies.

If you don't have another drive, try purchasing one from a shop that will let you return it if it's not needed (for your money back).

Good luck!
