I tried to install a Lexmark X5150 All -In-One into a new computer with Win 7 OS.  The printer portion would not print.

I tried to install it a second time with the same results......it would not print. This has resulted in two Lexmark icons on the Devices pages for the Lexmark printer.  I'm beginning to suspect the drivers that came with the printer on a cd are out of date. I've found some info on the Internet that updated drivers are available, and plan to try to down load them.  But I'd like to remove  the two icons that are cluttering the Devices page now.

I tried to remove the Lexmark program from the Devices page using the 'add or remove programs' utility, but get a message " wait until printing completes".  However I  have the printer completely disconnected from the computer.

I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions on removing those printer icons.

Ignore my last post.  It looks like I found the problem. Although the printer was disconnected from the computer, the Lexmark software on the computer still showed some pages to be printed and I presume hung up the removal action.

See if stopping the print spooler in services allows you to delete the Lexmark Printers in Control Panel.

After removing the Lexmark drivers you may still have the drivers in Windows. Click on the XPS printer in Devices and Printers. Click Printer Server Properties in the menu bar and remove any Lexmark drivers.

Installing a different printer may fail because lexmark attaches a dependency to the print spooler.

Hi,

I think there may be some pending commands for you printer which are in queue. Check commands via your computer and remove them or just print as dummy.
