Hello,

From last 1-2 days I am starting to get the following error sometimes when starting my PC. It's not happening everytime when I start my Laptop or wake up from sleep. When it happens I press and hold the power button few sec and then laptop restart. If laptop start correctly then after that there is no issue and running absolutely fine. I would say that I get this error screen 1 in 10 start/wake up of laptop from sleep.

IMG_20170105_201214.jpg

It is a Lenovo laptop. Model Z560. I bought it in 2010. It is running Windows 10 pro.

I run disk error scan on all my C,D and E drive but Windows says it cannot find any error in my disk.

Can somebody tell me what is wrong with my laptop ?

Seen some old drives in the past that don't like it if you power em down if the computer is still working and gos in to sleep mode, min you try and power the system back up windows freaks.

Test system with different hdd would be my best guess or go in to settings and don't let the computer turn the hdd off for any reason, keep it spinning.

Just thinking about that though doesn't sound like a grate fix for a laptop, more something i do on desktops if the hdd starts acting up on this topic.

Doing this setup might be a good way just to test but its not really a good fix for a laptop.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:
List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.

Go to Piriform's website, and download the free version on the left.  Click Download from Piriform.com (the FileHippo link requires an extra click). Or if you want to use a portable version of Speccy (which doesn't require installation), click the builds page link and download the portable version. You will now be asked where you want to save the file. The best place to put it is the Desktop, as it will be easy to find later.

After the file finishes downloading, you are ready to run Speccy. If you downloaded the installer, simply double-click on it and follow the prompts until installation is complete. If you downloaded the portable version, you will need to unzip it before use. Right-click the ZIP file and click Extract all. Click Next. Open up the extracted folder and double-click on Speccy.

Once inside Speccy, it will look similar to this (with your computer's specifications, of course):

post-33068-0-86653600-1480692866_thumb.j

Now, at the top, click File > Publish Snapshot.

Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard

Now, once you are back in the forum topic you are posting in, click the ADD REPLY or REPLY TO THIS TOPIC button. Right-click in the empty space of the Reply box and click Paste. Then, click Add Reply below the Reply box.

Quote from PXE-E61 Media Test Failure Error - Intel. Good luck! :)

The error PXE-E61 Media Test Failure can occur at boot if all the following are true:

  • Boot to Network (or Boot to LAN) is enabled in BIOS Setup.
  • A network cable/connection is not present.
  • Network Boot is listed in the boot order above any other boot device.
To resolve this error, change the boot drive order in BIOS Setup:
  • Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.
  • Go to the Boot menu.
  • Enable the option Boot Network Devices Last.
  • Press F10 to save and exit the BIOS Setup.

Not in response to your stated problem...but you appear to be running/updating Windows Defender, as well as Kaspersky Internet Security.  This is known to possibly create system problems.

I see no indication of hard drive problem...nor do I see anything leading to a guess, other than possible O/S or file corruption.
