My hp laptop has failed to start and the caps lock blinks continuously. I have tried almost all of the suggestions from HP, YT and other forums, but nothing has work so far. Can anyone suggest a fix?

Are you able to count the blink codes?

Have you followed any of the steps here?

It's about 3-4 seconds between each blink and yes, I have followed almost all the steps there.

Can you get to the BIOS options screen (by tapping "Esc" when the system first tries to start?

If so, start with these free, bootable diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/initdiag.html

All you can do now is remove everything from the laptop that you can remove like go down to one ram stick no hdd no dvd no wifi mini-pci card if its removable, if it still has problems try the other memory dimm and or ram stick, more then that dont know what to say, i don't see the point of cracking open laptops my self, its not like anyone can do anything in their besides replacing the hole mobo or cpu.

I think I will just try to extract what's on the HDD and get a new one. This is more than 10 years old.  Thanks all, much appreciated!
