i'm getting a PC made, with an i7 6700K.  i may be able to change the MOBO to either of the above (if not too late) instead of the Asus H110M-A M2.  can anyone say what the differences are of the two 170s?  looking for speed.

thanks.

Motherboards make little to no performance difference when gaming. However different motherboard manufacturers provide different warranties and support options along with features. That being said MSI has problems with quality control and should be avoided. For the Skylake platform I would suggest you pruchase a motherboard from Asus, Gigabyte or AsRock.  So Yes I would take the Asus Z170-K.  A very elegant and durable motherboard from Asus.
