amazon has used Kingston RAM in very good condition. big discount. does anyone know if the lifetime warranty would still be in play? (they are closed today).

also is used RAM a no-no, or is RAM usually good to go for life? if it works in the first 30 days, is it likely to go the distance?

thanks.

RAM rarely breaks down so if it works, it usually works for very long time.

Cannot say anything particular about "lifetime warranty" though.

Understood

However if this is for a gaming rig 8GB is plenty of ram.

Ram is not a factor in gaming really, there are no real performance boosts in using 16 GB of ram really.

The only reason to get more ram is if its on sale.

Thats the only reason why my machine has 16 gigs instead of 8, dont need it though :D

I use it for video editing and music renduring, and I'm pushing it with the RAM filling up with 8GB.

Well there is where yes more ram is good

Then yes go up to 16 I just didnt want you to throw money at something that is not an issue under normal circumstances even with gaming.

The warranty provisions fo items...new or used or refurbished...at Amazon are clearly reflected on the subject item page.

OTOH...items offered by 3d-party sellers is not covered by Amazon warranty provisions, IMO.

no, there is no warranty info with a used item sold by amazon (beyond the 30 day). i assume kingston would not provide lifetime service without an original receipt/info.
