Hi all. I'm another neophyte visiting Bleepingcomputer.com forums. I had a desk top put together early in XP days and later learned they used the cheapest parts they could find. A couple weeks ago, I made the leap.... I dragged out the ol' boat anchor, grabbed a screw driver and replaced all, sans the motherboard. (My next trip to town, buy a new motherboard!!) I found it fun, learned a bunch and found it easier than I expected. Now running Windows 10 and even after turning off all of the "ET call home" crap I could find, I'm still not sure if I should have loaded Windows 8.1. I guess I'll give it a chance
