Windows 7 Professional, Service Pack 1

Processor: i7-3770K @ 3.50GHz

Ram: 16.0 GB

System Type: 64-bit

After running MalwareBites I have not been able to connect to the internet using, Chrome, Firefox, or IE.

My modem and WiFi router are working fine as I am using my wife's computer which in on the network via an adapter.

My computer is wired directly into my wireless router.

In my windows "Network and Sharing Center" There are no active networks listed and when I click on "Connect to a network" a pop up

comes up from the Task Bar Start Menu showing all active networks in my area including my main one and the two guest networks I have.

Yet when clicking on any of them none will show up in the  "Network and Sharing Center" permanently. I did see my network in the  "Network and Sharing Center"

temporally but not long enough to accomplish anything.

Thank You for any help!

Of course you will need to transfer the program to the machine with no internet by first downloading it from another machine and then transfer it via cd - dvd -usb storage device.

If after running the tool, and you still have no internet please do the following....

Minitoolbox Scan.

Please download MINITOOLBOX and run it.

Checkmark following boxes:

Flush DNS
Reset FF proxy Settings
Reset Ie Proxy Settings
Report IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer log
List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size
List Devices (problems only)

Click Go and post the result.

FSS Scan.

Please download Farbar Service Scanner (FSS) and run it on the computer with the issue.

  • Make sure the following options are checked:
    • Internet Services
    • Windows Firewall
    • System Restore
    • Security Center/Action Center
    • Windows Update
    • Windows Defender
    • Other Services
  • Press "Scan".
  • It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
  • Please copy and paste the log to your reply.
