I have knocked over my HP Pavilion 24xw monitor and broken the screen.

I need my computer up and running ASAP for work and have managed to get hold of a Samsung SyncMaster 710N as a temporary replacement. This monitor only has a VGA port while my HP Pavilion PC only has an HDMI port.

I can get an HDMI>VGA adapter delivered tomorrow but I need to know if this is all I need? Once I have the adapter will it simply be a case of plugging in the Samsung monitor or will it need any additional software, etc?

Sounds about right, don't see why that wouldn't work.
