Recently I took an old laptop of mine to a local computer repair store and had the memory dumped onto a flash drive. When I got home, plugging the flash drive into the new computer there were a few file folders with all kinds of system names and what not. After browsing through them I found that pretty much none of the photographs from my old computer were on there. I called the gentleman at the store and he told me he dumped everything onto the flash drive that was there.

Fast forward a few days I use the flash drive to go to a Walmart photo kiosk to print off a picture that I transferred onto the flash drive from my new laptop. Lo and behold when I plug the Flash drive into the kiosk, hundreds of pictures from my old laptop pop up. So obviously they are on there. I brought the flash drive back home and again, all I can see is some 'computer speak'-labeled file folders and a few random documents.

Why can't I view my old photos from my new laptop when I plug in the flash drive?

Turn off Hidden Files if enabled and see if the pictures are now showing up but I am not sure how the kiosk was able to detect the pics with hidden files enabled..
