We have a laptop that when trying to load certain webpages crashes out of AOL and IE.

For some reason it will also no longer run Google Earth, it always used to.

Two of the websites we can think of are: www.bumblebeeauctions.c.ouk and www.longleat.co.uk (On longleat it will load every page except the homepage)

Any ideas waht might be wrong?

We have run Adaware and Spyware progs, McAffee and it has been cleaned and tidied by PCWorld.

Please help!

Thanks

I checked those two sites and the opening pages contain Java and flash elements that may be the cause of your problem. Check to make sure you have the latest Java and Adobe Flash and they are working properly. It would also be a good idea to clean out the temporary files, etc. Ccleaner is a good program for doing this.

There is another option if you don't want to attempt repair or the above doesn't fix the problem. You could install Firefox. That is what I used to view the sites and you would only need IE for getting Windows Updates.

For reference it was Java putting the monkey in the wrench!

We uploaded a newer version and followed their FAQ help section and the problem seems to be sorted!

Thanks everyone!

Glad you got your problem solved. Just a reminder, very important, open "Add/Remove" and remove ALL OLD
versions of Java.
