Any windows updates I have downloaded outside of the Windows Updater are stand-alone self-installers, they usually have the extension.MSI.

'Win Key + R' (opens the 'Run' box). Click 'Browse' and browse to wherever you saved these downloaded updates. They probably won't show up !  You will need to click the little black arrow above 'Open' and 'Cancel' and select 'All files'. Then select the first, click 'Open', this returns you to the 'Run' box, then click 'OK' and the file will start to install.

Doing your updates this way only allows you to install one at a time and if the update calls for a re-start, then you will have to re-start.
