I'm running Win 10 Pro, 64 bit. When I right click a folder or file to bring up Context Menu 'Open With' is missing. I've tried the 'normal' Registry editing (shellex, contextmenuhandlers, etc) and the Open With is there with the correct Default value. Shift, right click also doesn't do the trick.

Microsoft suggests that my custom Start Menu (Classic Shell) may be causing the problem but my wife is running the same OS on her laptop with Classic Shell and she doesn't have the Open With problem.

Would greatly appreciate suggestions. Thank you.

Classic Shell does not affect right-click menu in any way.
Probably the registry damaged
In the Register should be this line

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Open With

there is only one key its name is Default and value

{09799AFB-AD67-11d1-ABCD-00C04FC30936}

or whole registry key

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Open With]
@="{09799AFB-AD67-11d1-ABCD-00C04FC30936}"

Copy - paste it on Notepad and Save as Open with.reg select All Files (*) and Unicode

Save on desktop or to Documents, then double click on it and OK or Yes twice (don't remember what there was), if User Account Control enabled, then also Yes and done.

May need restart and administrator privileges.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've already done this- still no Open With. I may have to bite the bullet & do a Refresh, then re-install my apps.
