Hello I have windows 8.1 and have had this problem occurring for the past week, specifically the day after i started playing battlefield 1 if that's relevant to know. My computer is custom made and it is only  a bit over a year old but lately when it starts up it is really slow, even though it used to be faster, and often when i open my video games it takes a long time for them to load. Also for some reason it always seems to be loading something and the reason I can tell this is because of the light on the desktop is constantly flickers even when I'm not loading anything. What is going on?

Hemm that kind of thing sets off alarm bells in my head if i see my computer doing that.

Mind trying something for me ?

Download this and give me a full screen shot of everything running on your pc.

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/processexplorer.aspx

Ps: if you have a good rootkit in their you won't see the nasty running, might be a good idea to download everything you can on the rootkit detection topic and do some passes with a feu anti-virus and the like.

Photobucket is a virus imho, thing lags/long load times/stalls, when i try and go their way too many bots trying to data mine and cpu/mem use for Firefox hit max, don't know what it is their trying to do but im not liking it, as well i can't make out anything from your pics, way too small.

Can you re-upload plz using this place http://postimage.org/

Make shore it possible to see whats going on as well.

Forgot to ask as well, full system hardware stats would be useful too.

A screen shot of your memory use in process explorer might be useful as well, just click on the little boxes on the  top right, it will open up a menu, go to memory tab.

Example:

mem.jpg

Best i can tell you have all most 90 possesses going all at the same time, and i wouldn't be surprised if you have a pile of malware in their as well, the kind that comes with legal agreements and maybe some that don't.

Ram seems ok, you still have piles to spare.

imho you need to do a good clean up in their as to whats running, as well i see you have Avira, did you do the rounds on your computer with anti-malware~ AV like detectors/apps ?

Though they can only do so much, you can still end up with a pile of trash installed on a computer and when that happens performance bombs.

just from your SS you system not doing anything and yet your still at like 21% total cpu use.

Ps: when it comes to possesses i have like 1/3 the amount that you do and i could trim that more if i really wanted to.

Yes that's what im saying if you want to try and save your windows install, my self id reinstall windows after a hdd purge to clean house but that's just me, when i see a processes explorer that looks like your i often consider the windows install to be a lost cause.

PS: in the future i would be more careful about what you allow in to your pc, and never click on recommended installs, only do custom, reading TOS helps too, if you agree to what their trying to install  they can do anything they want to your computer after that.
