Specs http://puu.sh/sMkff.png

The game I am playing is Elsword. This game worked fine with nearly no lag at all back then when I first custom built this computer. But then I remember some BSOD happened and I ended up having to reinstall Windows and now Elsword is lagging like crazy when I play. However, for games like League Of Legends, I have constant FPS and only on rare occasions I would experience lag.

On League it would sometimes freeze (maybe for around 3 seconds) when I die.

Whenever mobs spawn I lag to 1-3 FPS, but when I die in the game I get around 20-25 FPS. When idle, constant 40 fps (because thats the limit the game sets when idle inm villages)

Here is GPU-Z, Speedfan temps, Catalyst, task manager, and MSI afterburner.
http://puu.sh/sR8D3.png The one thing I think is strange is Catalyst, on Activity there is 0% (sometimes it goes to 23% or some sort of random number), and on power there is constant 0%.

Here is MSI afterburner again when I play the game and then go idle: http://puu.sh/sR8T9.png

So during the game, the GPU usage goes pretty high and even after I go idle it stays high but I still have the 40 fps (limited so 40 is max) in game.

I also performed SMART on my SSD with SpeedFan and Speedfan says it has 100% fitness and 100% performance for detailed information.

Here is GPU-Z again, http://puu.sh/sR92m.png

The GPU load in the image is 0% and oftenly stays that way but it sometimes also changes to 2%, 5%, 7% and sometimes even 70%.

Yes I have disabled ULPS with MSI afterburner.

Yes I have tried updating to the latest AMD driver for my AMD R9 380, however I went back to the version that came in the disc (16.6) since updating it didn't help at all.

I have scanned for malware with Malwarebytez and scanned for viruses with AVG. I've also cleaned the registry and other junk with CCleaner.

I have not yet tried Stresstest because I am a bit nervous about purposing crashing the GPU especially when I'm not sure how to properly stresstest. If possible, I'd rather not at all.

I cannot try putting the GPU in another computer.

In Device Manager, under Display Adapters there is only AMD Radeon ™ R9 380 Series listed. Nothing else.

These are my power options. http://puu.sh/sR9Ed.png

If possible, I would like to try out new possible solutions.. please help and educate me in the process.

I would also like to know if buying a new GPU will help me. And if so, I would like a recommendation. The only things I do is some 3D editting, watching videos and playing League, Elsword, and osu!

you could try this, use it to find what draining CPU power.

Why does it look like my CPU is being drained? It has pretty low usage in my opinion and usually I have internet explorer or chrome open which I believe takes CPU.

I do appreciate the link, but I don't only want to identify the problem. I want some clues to the solution.

What i was thinking was some real time logging of all system resources to see if when you play the game something kicks in in the background and locks up the system, dropping to 1~3 fps makes no sense.

As well like you pointed out you don't have problems in league of legends right ? so its only the mmo that's doing that ?

I used process explorer and it was similiar to task manager.

Elsword is "2x.exe" and for some reason, it always disappears in both process explorer and task manager even though it is still running. This happens with all my pcs, even the ones without lag problems.

I don't believe anything too intensive is running when the game starts up because of my pretty good percentages in Task manager.

Instead, I am starting to believe the GPU may not be working for the game or something. Especially with my GPU Load at 0% (GPU-Z) and Activity at oftenly 0% (Catalyst).

The thing is, even if the game is really laggy (1-3 fps), if I tab out during that time and decide to watch videos or browse the net --the browser would not lag at all. it's just the game.

Can you turn down some of the video options?  I'm guessing there is a bright flash of light or something similar when things spawn and it is probably a lighting effect that is being applied at that time causing the issue.

What is the make and model of your PSU?

Have you tried changing the power plan back to the Balanced plan?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

In the game there is something called Screen Flashes. I'm not sure what it does, but I think sometimes it makes the game's screen completely white on purpose. I had tried it both disabled and enabled and there was still the same amount of lag.

If "video options" refer to my options in Elsword, then I think that is not the problem because months ago before I reinstalled Windows 10 I also ran with the same settings but had completely stable and high FPS.

If video options refer to something else, maybe something in catalyst, please tell me what I should have off

EVGA SuperNOVA GS 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

I have just tried Balanced plan and it did not make a difference.

If you don't mind, could you explain how choosing Balance plan may or may not have solved the problem?

Was that speccy screenshot taken at idle at load? The gpu is showing 51C, and if this was at idle, I would suspect a thermal issue.

I am running the game now, so I decided to take another speccy. http://puu.sh/sScx9.png More detailed version http://speccy.piriform.com/results/ibcK2aMaDLX0nBknUWbEPJm

It is 51 C with the game running, but even when I am idle I believe it may still be at 51 C.

What I suspect is the GPU is not being used in the game or something even though I have it set to dedicated graphics in BIOS.

edit: I noticed speccy is saying my computer type is a tablet. What does this mean? Is it correct or an error?

I have two wires, the VGA (colored blue and going through an adapter which is transparent colored) and DVI (colored white) connected between the monitor and the GPU.

Just checked system requirements for Elsword mmo, i was like wtf going on here reading all the posts.

CPU p4 3000mgz

RAM 2gigs

Video geforce 7500gs

DirectX 9 game made for winXP

HDD 2gigs

Something is very Wrong with your setup if you can only pull off 40 fps max, it should be 400 fps with your hardware, hell i could play that game on my system and get better FPS then you with my 6800GTX 256megs ram, yes that's what i have atm video card wise, use to have a 9800GTX 512 ram but it died.

Did some research on the directX 9 topic for win10, seems theirs problems with that Os and older games, reinstall and or mess with your DirectX and see what happens as well try and run game in compatibly mode "winXP"

Ps game was made for winXP not win10, if i haven't missed my guess installing win7 would probably fix it too as a last resort.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/179113

Found this as well seems win10 is garbage on the directX topic.

When I was reinstalling League of Legends I realized it made me download Directx9 again.

Here is what my DxDiag looks like: http://puu.sh/sSkMh.png I am using Directx12

I think I found some error in my dxdiag btw.. http://puu.sh/sSkDV.png
