When I plug in the display the screen turns showing my wallpaper before turning off after half a second. I used to be able to still see the screen when I shone a bright light on the screen, now I cant see anything. It was working before for a few hours. This is an old display and I just want it for projects. I am using a mac with a thunderbolt to vga adapter, but I tested it with a raspberry pi and nothing came up. When the display is not connected to any device and you press the menu button on the display it says it is in power save mode with normal brightness settings, press any key on keyboard or move mouse. I'm stuck here and can't find anything on forums so any help is appreciated. Could be a hardware or software problem not sure.

If the monitor doesn't display properly when using a known good output device... try a different monitor?

Appears the monitor in question has seen it's end-of-life. :(
