Hi to all I am new to this and not good with computers.I am running windows10 and got infected with THE SMART SEARCH virus. I tried everything to get rid of it but no success, I then found AdwCleaner by Malwarebytes and used that, it found infections and I followed the instructions. The machine rebooted but when I sign in to my account it says welcome and then I get a blank screen nothing happens at all. I can sign in with the second user after a slight delay and have found my documents through searching but I cannot boot from my account. Will I have to reinstall windows is there an easy way and keep my documents as I have no install disc as this was done through Microsoft. My windows 10 is genuine and registered.

I would be grateful for any help.

Regards to all.

You can recover your documents from your profile.

You can create a new profile - and then can import your documents into it.

BUT first I'd be sure that you have fully repaired the system.

I'd suggest posting over in the Am I Infected forum:  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/
Please read the pinned topics at the top of the forum for instructions on how to post there.
They'll be able to help repair the damage and get you on the road to recovery (we can help after they are done - just post back to this topic).

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
