above is a screenshot of my "issue" ("You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." ) Please look at that Grinler.  Same stuff i've been doing, with imgur.

Note that the file does not end with an image extension, such as .png or .jpeg.

If using Firefox, right-click on the image, and select "view image" then post the url with image tags:

These are Grinlers instructions for posting images from imgur

On imgur, when you upload a file, you need to click on the down arrow next to copy and select share links as shown below.

imgur.png

When the share links open, there will be field for bbcode that contains the right time of url:

Simplest method I use from Imgur is as Al1000 showed us many moons ago.

This assumes the file is in .png format but should work for .jpg as well.

  1. With the image on screen in Imgur, right-click in the image
  2. Choose "Copy Image Location", should be 3rd from the top in the context menu popup
  3. Return to BC Reply Pane
  4. Click "Image" 11th to the right, 2nd row of toolbars
  5. Ctrl-v to paste url, should end in .png or other
  6. Press OK

Not to say Grinler's doesn't work, I just find this easy

On your Topic subject matter:

I am in the garage currently, nearly completed running 153 updates and kernel updates on Peppermint 7 in the Study (hadn't been into it for a while, bad Wizard).

If you want to tell me:

  1. Source of download for Aion
  2. Wine version and any Play On Linux &c

... I can try to emulate your circs.

Other than that, GNU_LINUX knows a lot about Peppermint.

Cheers

BTW - doesn't look like Polish, more like from the nation of Gibber (gibberish)?

My comments between yours, Bro'

That worked wiz, i took out the brackets. as to the subject.

Cool - now we can expect to see home happy snaps of your probs?

Source of download:  http://na.aiononline.com/echoes-of-eternity/

Ta, will d/l

Wine version, 1.6.2

Ditto, will check repos and install

No PlayOnLinux, just wine and winetricks.

should i use PlayOnLinux?

How long is a piece of string? Many here recommend it, it may also make Wine less vulnerable. I haven't tried it yet.

and if you downlaoded the system.cfg.txt file you will see, that's not normal haha.

Yes, so I noted.

Can you paste to the forum, the output of

<cat /path-to/system.cfg.txt> ? Ta

OK, so installing Winetricks also installed Wine for me. I then chose to install PlayOnLinux, which required the additional as shown on SPM:

JbrTUeX.png

Nothing untoward there, so installed.

Once installed, Wine and Winetricks appear in your Menu as its own category "Wine".

PlayOnLinux appears when you menu out "Games".

I'll download the Aion game from your source this arvo and see where we go from there.

Cheers

The Original Location of the system.cfg  file is: /home/vip3r/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files (x86)/NCSOFT/Aion

the system.cfg.txt is a copy i made of the orginal.

Tried this link of yours http://na.aiononline.com/echoes-of-eternity/

... didn't look particularly Wizard-friendly, like I had to have an account or register or play online.

So trawled the Web a little, saw references to GameForge, went here https://en.aion.gameforge.com/  and downloaded a file called AION_GameforgeLiveSetup_EN.exe - 20.2MB - does that sound promising?

Also read references that I might need 30GB to install, I've checked out the Study and Peppermint 7 (30GB reserved) is sitting in between Peppermint 6 (30 GB reserved) and Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety Yak MATE, so if I want to have 30GB up my sleeve, I am better off nuking Peppermint 6 and moving 7 to the left with GParted to fill the extra space.

Cheers

Just read your Post - so was the original file just named system.cfg or system.cfg.txt?

I understand.

Better to have renamed it to eg system.txt - OSes and software get spooked sometimes by double extensions, smacks of virus.

Try that "cat" command output for me too, or else "vi" or "vim" if you know them.

But it's late for you

Later

Morning, Viper.

That picture you posted back in the original thread. The 'language' shown there is not a language at all; it's gibberish. It seems to be the kind of problem you get when required fonts aren't installed, actually.

It certainly isn't like any language I've ever seen! Too many consonants for one thing (every other letter is a 'p', curiously).....and hardly a vowel in sight.

Mike.
