I keep getting an error message when I try to burn a DVD with DVDXCopy Platinum on a LITEON LDW 851S DVD burner. It will read the DVD fine but when I try to burn I get the error message. The DVD burner does burn with DVD Clone and with Nero 6 Ultra. I had this drive working fine with DVDXCopy but something changed.
Any Ideas?

I noticed that the device is using the driver from the SP2 upgrade.

I found the driver specifically for the DVD burner. Let me know if it works out.

OK I see the SP2 driver,
but that link is to Firmware GS0C. I have already upgraded to Firmware GS0K but that didnt help either. And besides the burner works just not with DVDXcopy.

I had this drive working fine with DVDXCopy but something changed.

It is about the only thing that I can think about is that SP2 does not like something that application is doing.

It would be nice if there was an upgrade to DVDXCopy, but I do not see that happening anytime soon.

Maybe someone else can think of another idea that may be the culprit. I will ask a few of my co-workers about it, but will not be able to post what they said until at least Saturday.

 I feel sure something changed a file. Software conflict is my thinking because its just DVDXcopy that has the problem, I dont know what program but I think something changed a registry file or ini file or something along those lines.

Have you tried re-installing DVDXCopy since the SP2 update?

A quick googling revealed that your not the only one who has been having DVDXCopy + SP2 problems. At a cursory glance it seem uninstalling SP2 to be the only fix.

I fixed it! :inlove: :) :) :flowers:  :trumpet: :) :P
I still dont know what caused it.
I downloaded RegistryChecker.exe from Nero.
You can find it and some other tools at:
Nero
