It has been a while since I have had to worry about anything computer related. But I am needing to buy a usb wireless antenna for a desktop to receive a signal from a router. I am checking ebay and everything mentions LAN Card, sending and receiving.

I just need the basic thing to pull a wireless signal from my router. So are people just throwing extra words and features in but they all receive as I mentioned that I need or what?

Thanks

The item you linked to should work but what OS are you going to use it on. If you have Windows 8 or 10 I would look at another adapter. The link from ebay also lists it as selling 3 items. Are you going to need three of these adapters or was the link just an example.

Here is a single version on Ebay.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to link to a specific item. Just need to understand if they say it sends and receives if that is really the same as what I would have gotten for a desktop back in 2006 or so. I am using Windows 7 on the computer I need it for and that's not an issue for me to figure out. I got a little concerned when a co-worker that I normally ignore said " O no you must get one that receives only" and so fourth.

Not sure why your co-worker would say that, but they are all transceivers.  :)
