I have recently bought a 10 port USB hub so I can have all of my things plugged into my laptop. But whenever the USB hub is not plugged in to a power source, I get interference between my keyboard (the musical instrument) and my laptop's audio output. When I try to plug the USB hub into power, for some reason, it trips my whole house's electricity.

I can't figure out how to fix this problem and I really want to get it fixed fast so I can get back to making some electronic music.

If it helps, my laptop is a Asus X555LB, and the keyboard I am using is a Casio CTK-4000.

Thank you,

NdT

This sounds like an electrical fault if it trips a house circuit breaker.  A licensed electrician should check out the wiring.  A two prong outlet/cord can swap polarities and put full potential between two grounded devices, this wouldn't be a problem until they get hooked together, like with a USB cable.  Better it trips the breaker than start a fire when the cable burns up.
