But I can ping the Default Gateway.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

It's timing out.  But I do have internet access.

Hello there,

Please provide more info:

  1. How long has this happened?
  2. Was there a recent power outage/surge?
  3. Are there any cables damaged? Check all cables in the back, especially the one that goes from the modem to the PC. Ensure they are plugged in accurately... disconnect and reconnect.
  4. Also, what address are you typing to try to access the login page? Or are you reaching the login page but cannot connect?
  5. Have you done a reset on the modem? Soft or hard reset?
  6. If all options exhausted above, do you know if you still have service?

That's all for questions for now.

Thanks all for the replies.

As it turns out, my ISP(Comcast) is all IPv6 so I had to go into the adapter properties and enter the DNS servers manually in V6.  That did the trick. I can now ping my face off.  lol

And the simple modem I have, (Arris SurfBoard6141) allows for no user configurations.  I'll be picking up a wireless dualband router soon and that will let me forward my ports and etc.

Thanks for the replies and have a good one!

Glad I could help.

The two DNS servers are:

  • 2001:4860:4860:0:0:0:0:8888
