A sneaky thief has stolen a bucket of gold, valued at $2.1m, from the back of an unsupervised truck in New York.

The NYPD released the surveillance footage on Wednesday in an attempt to track down the thief who is believed to be aged in his 50s.

The armoured truck was making a pickup about 4:30pm in Manhattan on September 29, when the driver left the back of it open and unattended.

The above story also has video footage that must be seen to be believed.

My Rant

This guy is in his 50's according to the story and he picked up a bucket with 83kg ( thats 180 pounds ) with ease, He must be strong.

And since when do you leave the back of a armored  truck with at least 2 million in it open? The driver should also be charged.

8.3kg mate... not 83kg. I dunno what sort of gold is worth $250000 a kg though. Anyone?

But hell yeah, I'd be grinning as well. Guy is set for life if he gets away with it.
